Master Eraqus

Story and background

Xehanort's closest friend and later philosophical opponent. He trains Terra, Aqua and Ventus, but his fear of darkness leads him to dangerous choices before his heart ultimately helps settle their conflict.

Historical context

This part of the chronology shows how a tradition of Keyblade instruction becomes entangled with Xehanort’s desire to control the balance between light and darkness. The events of Dark Road and Birth by Sleep explain the stakes of later confrontations without excusing the harms caused by his plan.
