Gym, rival and route structure gives the campaign a clear sequence while optional captures and side areas reward exploration

Post-game: The full Emerald Battle Frontier was not restored, which is the major content omission compared with the enhanced GBA release.
Completion: Version-exclusive Pokémon mean a single release cannot complete its full Pokédex without trading, transfers or another compatible version
