Pros & Considerations
Battles
Simple readable maps make positioning and unit roles easy to understand

The broad recruitable Force encourages experimentation with unusual units
Music
The Genesis soundtrack gives battles and towns a strong identity
◇Consider
Pacing: No built-in battle fast-forward/animation skip
Workarounds & fixes
Dated interface and inventory handling
There is no perfect vanilla-preserving fix for every old interface limitation, but Autotalk removes repeated talk-command friction and Legacy of the Ancients is a much broader optional overhaul if you want modernisation beyond the original rules.
