A visitor from another world

Claude C. Kenny is separated from an Earth Federation mission and transported to the underdeveloped planet Expel. He meets Rena Lanford, who sees his advanced weapon and wonders whether he is the legendary Hero of Light. Their paths intertwine around a mysterious Sorcery Globe, and the choice of Claude or Rena as protagonist changes which portions of the journey and relationships receive emphasis.

The Sorcery Globe and Expel's disaster

The party discovers that the Sorcery Globe is connected to the Ten Wise Men, ancient artificial beings tied to the advanced civilisation of Energy Nede. What seems like a local crisis proves to be an attempt to free a group of dangerous exiles. Their actions culminate in Expel's catastrophic destruction during the collision with Energy Nede, while Claude, Rena and their companions survive through extraordinary circumstances.

Energy Nede's buried history

In Energy Nede the party learns that the Ten Wise Men were created by the Nedians and imprisoned when they became uncontrollable. Rena's personal history is tied to that civilisation, which helps explain her powers and the mysteries surrounding her origins. Mayor Narl and other Nedians assist the group because the Wise Men threaten not merely their world but the wider universe.

Ending explained: the restoration of Expel

Claude, Rena and their allies defeat the Ten Wise Men at Fienal. The Nedians use their world's extraordinary technology and Heraldry to restore Expel, while Energy Nede's era draws to a close. Claude and Rena's relationship and the fates of recruited companions vary with Private Actions and player choices; the fixed resolution is that the universal threat ends and Expel is saved, not one compulsory romantic pairing.
