From student to instructor
Rean Schwarzer becomes an instructor at Thors Branch Campus, mentoring Juna, Kurt, Altina and later Ash and Musse. Field exercises reveal how Erebonia's annexations and old political conflicts are still reshaping lives in Crossbell and beyond. Returning allies from Class VII, Liberl and Crossbell bring seemingly separate threads of the Trails saga into one story.
The curse beneath Erebonia
Investigations point toward Ouroboros, Chancellor Osborne, the Gnomes and an old power known as the Great One. Behind the Empire's recurring tragedies lies a curse that influences people and can be exploited to drive them toward violence. Rean discovers that Osborne is his biological father: during the Hamel incident Osborne gave his heart to save the mortally wounded child.
Ash, the Emperor and the Gral
Ash, influenced by the curse, shoots Emperor Eugent. The government uses the shooting to accelerate mobilisation against Calvard. Class VII pursues the deeper conspiracy into the Gral of Erebos, where the party learns that releasing the Great Twilight requires the sacrifice of a compatible weapon in the form of Altina.
Ending explained: Millium and Rean
Millium intervenes to protect Rean and Altina, sacrificing herself and becoming the Sword of the End. Devastated, Rean loses control and destroys the Holy Beast, unleashing the curse and initiating the Great Twilight. Osborne's side captures him as the Divine Knights converge. There is no resolved victory at the credits: the ending deliberately hands the immediate catastrophe to Cold Steel IV.
