Keep old weapons for synthesis and unlearned abilitiesAn old weapon may still be needed for a future synthesis recipe or a unique skill even if its attack stat is poor.

How to do it

  1. Before selling, inspect its learnable skills and whether the weapon is required in available synthesis.
  2. Keep at least one copy of rare or unique weapons until you're sure they are no longer needed.
Learn weapon skills before swapping weaponsSkills become permanently usable after you earn enough LP in battles with the relevant weapon equipped.

How to do it

  1. Open the Skills screen when you get new equipment; look at each weapon's learnable skills and learning gauge.
  2. Keep that weapon equipped until the desired skill is learned, then set the learned skill using SP.
Treat side quests as time-sensitiveVesperia has strict story windows for some optional events. Waiting until the final dungeon can permanently lock you out of scenes and rewards on that playthrough.

How to do it

  1. Return to previously visited towns after major plot developments and speak to named NPCs.
  2. For a completionist run, follow a Definitive Edition-specific missables checklist before each story point of no return.

Important: Some missed scenes require New Game+ to revisit; a blind first playthrough is still perfectly valid.

Check synthesis whenever you enter a shopNew recipes depend on progression and materials in your possession, and synthesized weapons often carry important new skills.

How to do it

  1. Collect enemy drops and inspect overworld search points while moving between locations.
  2. At a shop, review new synthesis recipes before buying a straight stat upgrade; prioritize useful weapon abilities.
Scan unfamiliar enemies with Magic LensUsing Magic Lens records enemy details; rare enemy forms, bosses and one-off encounters are easy to forget in a Collector's Book-focused run.

How to do it

  1. Buy a supply of Magic Lenses before major dungeons and boss sequences.
  2. Use one on enemy types you have not recorded, especially bosses and altered or weather-dependent versions.
Use Fatal Strikes deliberately rather than button-mashingThe correct arte attributes build an enemy's Fatal Strike gauge. They provide a powerful finishing tool and can change combat rewards.

How to do it

  1. Watch the colour associated with your artes and the on-screen Fatal Strike prompts.
  2. Chain artes of the appropriate attribute against ordinary enemies; trigger the prompt when you want the finishing blow.
Farm materials and Gald together near Deidon HoldFor early cash, fight common nearby enemies that also drop materials you need for synthesis instead of grinding for Gald alone.

How to do it

  1. Before Deidon Hold, fight the nearby Tuliper enemies when you need money for early purchases.
  2. Keep their materials for synthesis and pick up overworld search-point items along the route.

Important: This is steady early income, not an infinite-money exploit.

Use Rita's Tidal Wave method to farm Grade for New Game+This famous setup uses fast Tidal Wave casts and repeated Fatal Strike opportunities to build Grade, not direct EXP.

How to do it

  1. Unlock Rita's Tidal Wave and prepare Minimum Damage, speed/TP support skills and Over Limit recovery.
  2. Link a large group of manageable enemies, enter Over Limit and repeatedly cast Tidal Wave without immediately taking Fatal Strikes.
  3. End the combo after building Grade; spend the accumulated Grade at the New Game+ shop on bonuses you actually want.

Important: This is Grade farming—not EXP farming. It requires substantial late-game setup and can be tedious.
