Luxu / Xigbar

Story and background

The Master of Masters' sixth apprentice, instructed to pass the Gazing Eye Keyblade through generations. He survives by taking successive vessels—including Braig and Xigbar—until the Foretellers return.

Events and connections in the series

The Master trained six apprentices. Five became the Foretellers: Ira, Aced, Invi, Gula, and Ava. They led five Unions of Keyblade wielders in Daybreak Town, where young warriors travelled through worlds projected from the Book of Prophecies and collected Lux, the light they believed could protect the future. The sixth apprentice was Luxu. Unlike the others, he was not given command of a Union. He was given a mission that would last generations.

Luxu's assignment was stranger. He would carry No Name forward, never allowing its eye to lose sight of history, and pass it to the next keeper when the time was right. He also received a mysterious black box and was forbidden from opening it. The Master told him something about its contents, but the audience still does not know what is inside. Luxu had to watch events, not avert them. As long as he preserved the Keyblade's line, the future recorded by the Book could come into view.

Not every Foreteller knew the real purpose of their instructions. Not every catastrophe was under the Master's direct control. What matters is the causal chain: a prophecy was shown to people, those people reacted to it, and their reactions helped bring it to pass. Meanwhile, Luxu departed with the very weapon through which the Master intended to watch history unfold.

Historical context

The ancient Keyblade era is remembered through competing accounts of prophecy, the Foretellers and the Dandelions. Individual motivations matter because the Master of Masters assigns different responsibilities that the apprentices do not fully understand. The consequences reach far beyond the first Keyblade War.
