Zohar
Power source and mystery
Story and background
A critical artifact linked to Deus and the Wave Existence. Similar terminology in other Xeno titles does not, by itself, establish common continuity.
Events and connections in the series
Long before the events of the game, spacefaring humanity discovered and investigated the mysterious Zohar. An interstellar civilization eventually built Deus, an immensely dangerous weapons system, and integrated it with the biological computer Kadomony and the Zohar. The machine's ability to exploit an extraordinary power made it far more than an ordinary military project.
At the core of this history is the Wave Existence, a higher-dimensional being trapped through the Zohar/Deus system. A child aboard the Eldridge named Abel encounters this being and becomes the first Contact. The being responds to the boy's longing for his mother; the result becomes central to the existence of Elly, the recurring Antitype, and the pair's extraordinary connection.
Sophia sacrifices herself during the war. Lacan's grief and rage leave him vulnerable to Miang's manipulation. Through contact with the Zohar and the pursuit of power, he becomes Grahf, a destructive presence who persists by moving between human hosts. Krelian, driven by the loss of Sophia and his own desire to overcome human suffering, turns toward methods that will eventually make him one of the story's most dangerous figures.
