The usurped prince
Young Evan escapes Ding Dong Dell after Mausinger's coup, aided by Roland, a visitor from Earth, and the loyal Aranella, who sacrifices herself to protect them. Evan promises to create a kingdom where people can live together. He earns the Kingmaker Lofty's support, befriends the sky pirates and begins building Evermore.
The Declaration of Interdependence
Evermore grows by recruiting citizens while Evan works to unite neighbouring states. Goldpaw's fraudulent ruler, Hydropolis's queen, Broadleaf's president and even Ding Dong Dell's Mausinger are persuaded to join a declaration of cooperation. Behind the unrest lurks Doloran, who secretly steals Kingsbonds to restore a lost power.
The Horned One and Roland's soulmate
Doloran intends to awaken the Horned One, a destructive entity tied to his lost kingdom and his former Kingmaker Alisandra. He reveals that Roland is his soulmate from another world and attempts to make him abandon Evan's cause. The group defeats Doloran and the Horned One, learning that Alisandra's tragedy arose from her efforts to abandon divine power for love.
Ending explained: the kingdom's future
Evan encourages Doloran to rebuild rather than remain trapped in grief. The major kingdoms celebrate a new era, and Roland returns to Earth inspired to pursue peace there. Evan discovers that the mysterious boy advising him in dreams was Ferdinand—not a distant ancient ruler but Evan's own future son. In time Ferdinand succeeds Evan and helps unite the world.
