Lora and Jin before the catastrophe

Torna tells the story of Lora, the Driver whose bond with the Blade Jin predates his bitterness in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Alongside Addam, Mythra, the young prince Hugo and their companions, they travel in search of a way to stop Malos, the destructive Aegis. The group's friendships offer a glimpse of how different Jin and Mythra once were.

Malos and the Aegis War

Malos's devastation threatens nations and Titans, forcing warriors who do not always agree to fight together. Mythra begins to understand both the terrible scale of her power and the responsibility placed on her. Addam's support is essential, but there is no comfortable way to use such power without consequences.

The fall of Torna

The confrontation with Malos reaches its climax in catastrophic destruction. Mythra prevails, but her uncontrolled power destroys the Tornan Titan and causes enormous loss of life, including the death of young Milton. Traumatized and horrified by herself, she retreats into the alternate identity Pyra. The supposed victory becomes the emotional wound that shapes her life centuries later.

Ending explained: Jin's path toward despair

Lora and Jin survive the immediate battle, but their brief peace cannot last. Indol's forces hunt down remnants of the Tornan struggle, Lora is mortally wounded, and Jin's grief drives him to consume her heart to preserve their bond, becoming a Flesh Eater. The gentle Blade who cared for her eventually becomes the bitter opponent Rex meets in the main game. The tragedy is made worse by knowing that these friends almost created a different future.
