The search through Kairi’s memories
A year after Sora vanishes, Kairi allows Ansem the Wise and other researchers to explore memories associated with the events of her life. The larger musical campaign revisits previous adventures; its new plot is concentrated in the framing and final scenes.
A memory of Xehanort and clues about a world beyond the familiar realms point toward Quadratum. Kairi does not personally travel there during this story. Riku recognizes the modern city through recurring dreams and takes the next step in the search for Sora.
What happens next
Kairi's discoveries help Riku begin the search for Sora beyond their known reality. The game's limited new scenes set up the Lost Master Arc; they do not show a resolved Kingdom Hearts IV plot.
